A desirable 2 bedroom apartment within the impressive ‘Granary and Bakery’ built in the late 1820's and recently converted into modern dwellings. The apartment has been recently converted and refurbished to a very good 4* star standard with a high specification throughout. It is located on the 2nd floor with views over Portsmouth Harbour to Portsdown Hill beyond and is serviced with a lift to aid those not so physically mobile, plus benefits from an allocated parking space and an additional space for visitors.

Rooms

The prices advertised on our website are for up to 4 guests over 2 bedrooms in a 5ft king size bed within the master bedroom and another 5ft king size ‘zip and link’ double bed (which can separate to create 2 singles if requested) within the 2nd bedroom. An additional guest or two could be accommodated on the corner sofa bed within the lounge with additional guests over 4 being charged at a rate of £50 per week/part week per head, or we charge £25 per set of extra linen requested.

A child’s cot and highchair are also available at no extra cost. (If cots are provided guests are asked to please bring their own child’s bedding).

Bathroom

The high spec bathroom has a bath with shower over, a wash hand basin and toilet and is tiled from floor to ceiling, with all towelling provided.

Kitchen

The kitchen comes fitted with all essential mod cons and is fully equipped for self catering, including an electric cooker, washing machine, dishwasher, a tall stand alone fridge freezer, etc.

Lounge/Dining Area

The main living area is open plan to the kitchen with 2 picture windows overlooking the landscaped courtyard and harbour with a large leather corner sofa, dining table and 4 chairs, plus TV, PS3/DVD player, radio/bluetooth speaker

Some of our properties have age restrictions, such as where we feel it would not be suitable for younger all adult groups, such as within quiet residential areas where noise may be an issue.

Neighbours

All our properties are located within residential areas so we do have neighbours whom we need to consider. If you feel you could comfortably monitor noise levels then we would love to have you stay and have had countless guests who have had a great time with us at our properties. If however you feel that it would not be possible to monitor noise levels, then we would have to recommend you consider something more rural, without neighbours.

The nearest train station is Portsmouth Harbour which is in Portsmouth, so you will need to get the short 4 minute ferry across to Gosport. The ferry sails every 5-15 minutes from Portsmouth Harbour station depending on the time of day.

FAQs

Check in times are between 4 - 6pm (unless agreed otherwise) with checkout by 10am on day of departure. If an early check in or late departure time is required then we will do what we can to help, however if this is vital for your plans we recommend guests book the extra night.
Bedding, linen and bathroom towels are provided for the number of guests booked to stay with a complimentary linen and towel change carried out for stays of 10 nights and over. Additional bedding is available if required at the cost of £25 per set to include 2 medium sized bath towels. If additional towels over those provided are requested these can also be supplied at a cost of £1 per hand towel and £2 per medium sized bath towel. The above is part of our environmental and sustainability program, which is designed to reduce waste, with all our properties provided with washing machines for your use if required, plus you are welcome to bring additional bedding/towels if you wish. An additional mid term maid cleaning service is also available for 1 cleaner to attend for 3 hours at a cost of £45 and please contact us if required.
We are understandably sensitive about what surfaces items such as balloons and banners are fixed or stuck to so would be happy to put these up for you to limit any possible damage, but would not wish to take on the responsibility of choosing and purchasing these items for you in case we did not get it quite right. However, if you wished to mail the items you would like us to put up for you, to our office address 45a Stoke Road, Gosport, Hants, PO12 1LS, at least 7 days prior to your arrival, we will endeavour to have these put up where possible, in time for your arrival.

The Granary - A must stay

Thank you for our stay at The Granary which I can highly recommend. The apartment has been converted and furnished to a high specification with great views overlooking the central paved square and onward over the harbour. There are two good sized bedrooms, a large open plan kitchen, lounge, dining area, all with great character.... big oak beams, cast iron posts and some exposed original brickwork, which gives a hint of the buildings former life. There is also a generous sized bathroom and all has an excellent standard of cleanliness. A great relaxing atmosphere where we were able to shut the door to the outside world after a busy day exploring and enjoy the peace and quiet. The apartment is set in a large impressive historic building overlooking the naval docks & local harbour where you have a superb view of various sized naval and pleasure boats plus HMS Victory. HMS Warrior and the Spinnaker Tower. We found we were a short walk to the Millennium Bridge, a bascule bridge (which means drawbridge) which leads to the Explosion Museum or a short 10 minute walk into the town centre and the ferry allowing easy access to Portsmouth with the Historic Naval Dockyard & Gunwharf Quays a few minutes walk from the ferry the other side. All in all a great property and a great stay.

Lovely, comfortable flat

Lovely, comfortable flat and good location only 15 mins walk from ferry (much quicker and more convenient than a drive into Portsmouth). The flat was very clean and well presented. Check in and out was easy and well organised . Nice restaurants nearby and parking on site.

Couldn't wish for better

Lovely apartment, very close to all amenities and very suitable for our young 2 year old to watch the boats and explore from. Lovely parks within walking distance or a short car ride.

Convenient location, peaceful, very comfortable well managed apartment, great view of the water.

The history in Gosport and Portsmouth is quite amazing and this unit provides a perfect spot to explore both sides of the harbour and easily get to the Isle of Wight (catamaran, hovercraft or car ferry). The ten minute walk to the ferry makes it easy to get to Portsmouth; we didn't bother using our car once and in fact noted next time we will simply take the train down. Anyone interested in naval history - back to Henry VIII - will enjoy this location. The Mary Rose museum and Victory are steeped in history, as are the dock yard areas on both sides and the other ships that can be explored. The Granary apartment was a perfect peaceful base for our adventures.

We had a great time at The Granary. A lovely clean property with everything we needed, great position away from any through traffic and easy access to the town and ferry, We never used our car once during the stay. Everything was just perfect.

The Gosport Granary/Bakery Apartments - A joy to stay at.

We found the accommodation of a high standard and really couldn't fault anything. Staff were very friendly and polite. Had a very nice meal at one of the restaurants on the front of building. Gosport was very appealing and enjoyed the seafront. Portsmouth is always a joy to visit and especially enjoyed the dockyard museum where I relished reminiscing my navy days (1962-1973). All in all we thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

The Granary

Our booking of the holiday was very easy. The letting agent have a very organised approach and Ken was very helpful upon arrival. The apartment was lovely, filled with everything you may need and extras like the game consoles that kept us busy on the odd occasion it rained. Fantastic views and close to Gosport ferry to Portsmouth. We will definitely make use of the apartment and holiday letting agent again for future bookings.

The Granary is a lovely comfortable property. Easy access to the Gosport Ferry and shops. Two restaurants nearby (Artys & Bakers) both serving very good food and have very good staff. Complete Holiday Homes was excellent on all counts and Steve did a great meet and greet when we arrived.

Great Apartment and Location

Everything about The Granary was excellent. From the booking via Complete holiday homes, right up until we left to come home. We were met outside by Ken who took us up to the apartment where he showed us around and all the appliances. There is also a folder with all the details and lots of things to do around Gosport and Portsmouth area. The apartment was clean and tidy with everything we required for the week we stayed. It is ideally placed with only a twenty minute walk into Gosport town Centre and Gosport Ferry. All in all it was a fabulous place to stay over the Christmas week.

Nice, clean, bright and airy apartment in a quiet area of Gosport.

Apartment had everything we needed for our stay, plates, utensils, pans, iron & ironing board and a washer/dryer. It's about a 10 min walk to the Gosport ferry terminal. We had a great day out at the Royal naval dockyard and another good day at the Isle of Wight with the Wight link close by, just over the bay.

Superb apartment, wonderful location

The property was absolutely stunning, very cosy and comfortable with wonderful views. The property is situated close to the ferry which we used frequently for trips to Portsmouth where we enjoyed eating in 'The Canteen' at The Round Tower. We also enjoyed visiting Southampton, Chichester and Salisbury which were all very interesting. The 'Oriental Harbour' takeaway was also recommended to us by staff and it was very good. The booking process was very straight forward, we received a warm welcome from Ken when we arrived.

Lovely apartment full of character in a great location.

Lovely, modern, spacious, well equipped and tastefully decorated. In one word - FANTASTIC. Ideally located to reach Gunwharf Quays, the Naval Museums etc and only a short drive to the New Forest. Ken welcomed us very well and thoroughly and was very knowledgeable. Also the welcome pack of milk, tea, coffee etc was very thoughtful. The admin was very professional from initial contact all the way through to meeting Ken on arrival. Would definitely use again.

Wonderful place

My mum & stepdad, had the most fabulous stay at The Granary, this last week. As my stepdad is disabled, it was important for us to get them somewhere that would be accessible, so the lift was great. John was Gosport born and bred, though has lived in West Yorkshire for the past 25 years. He's very frail now, as is his only surviving sister. Because of this, it had been around 4 years since they'd seen each other. And so being able to stay at The Granary meant that we could finally get them back together. Both my parents and 'the Gosport lot' who visited them during last week, all commented on what a beautiful apartment it is. They were also very complimentary about Ken, who they said was incredibly helpful and amenable during their stay. My mum said the beds were so comfy and she slept better there than she has in a while. They loved the views and made use of the nearby restaurant and coffee shop. John said the apartment was so characterful and felt very much like home, while they were there. All in all, it sounds like you were lucky not to have ended up with a couple of geriatric squatters. And all being well, we would most certainly like to book this with you again.

Fabulous place to stay

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at The Granary and Bakery, it's a lovely apartment and Ken was lovely and very helpful. It's a great area we felt very safe here. The Granary is a lovely apartment, perfect for a family stay

The Granary is a lovely apartment, perfect for a family stay. It's in a great location, family friendly restaurants nearby and only a 15 minute walk from the Gosport Ferry so good to get to Portsmouth. We loved the views and the ease of access into Portsmouth via the ferry was so much easier than taking a car. Can also access Southsea by bus from there - brilliant. Complete Holiday Homes have been excellent and handled a discrepancy with Air BnB 's website well and were very organised and pro-active.

Stunning

Beautiful apartment with stunning views, very comfortable and luxurious. We've enjoyed exploring on foot the historical aspects of the area, plus some retail therapy in Portsmouth. Definitely a place to come back to. The staff were very efficient and welcoming.

We had a great stay at The Granary. The accommodation was well equipped and met all our needs, with everything we wanted on hand. The area was what we’re looking for, early morning walks along the coast past Priddy’s Hard to the Hardway, walking distance to the ferry across to Portsmouth and an easy drive to visit family in Stubbington. Our lovely holiday

Property was excellent. I have never stayed in a holiday property that is so clean, it felt like home! Gunwharf quays and the docks were brilliant although personally disappointed in Portsmouth and Southsea town centres. The staff were all lovely and accommodating especially Ken and Natasha. Nothing was too much trouble for them and holiday was excellent.

Perfect Place

The property is really 1st class and had everything we needed for our two week stay. A lot of thought has obviously been put into the apartment, the decoration and lay-out in fact everything was perfect, especially the location. The washing machine broke during our stay but Ken quickly arranged things with the owner and we had a new one fitted and working within 24 hours. Great service! The experience was perfect for us and we would definitely stay here again if in this area. All interaction with Complete Holiday Homes was superb, they were so helpful with everything. Ken made us feel very welcome and safe even in these strange Covid times.

Perfect location and beautiful apartment

The Granary provided us with perfect accommodation for our week in Gosport. The apartment is spacious, well appointed and has a high quality of furniture making it extremely comfortable. The views of the Harbour and the beautifully retained architectural features of what is an historic building made this a very special place to stay. Excellent Accommodation

Excellent home. Was very well equipped (full kitchen, games console, HiFi), has a nice view and good Wi-Fi. We were in for an extended period while our flat was being refurbished and we greatly appreciated the fully equipped kitchen, and the large kitchen/living/dining area. Excellent stay

The Granary was lovely and clean very comfortable and well equipped. The immediate area was quiet with lots of things to do close by and a wide range of supermarkets. Ken provide a great service and gave a comprehensive tour and overview of the area. Booking was very easy and all the information received quickly. Great very tidy property in a quiet location

Everything was great about our stay at the Granary. The property is very tidy light and airy and has everything you could possibly need for a stay. The Wi-Fi was up to speed and the bathroom is immaculate (better that some hotels). The surroundings are very quiet with no through traffic and very pleasant to walk around with the marina in front of the building and a view across to Portsmouth. There is a bar below the building but no noise nuisance as it is around the corner. We never used our car once during our stay as it was so easy to just walk into Gosport or the ferry across to Portsmouth. All in all we had a great stay in the area and dealing with Ken and Natasha from complete holiday homes was a pleasure from easy booking, payment, Meeting Ken at the property and very prompt return of deposit.

Lovely, peaceful, beautiful property

We had a lovely time at The Granary, the property was spot on for our needs and just what we expected from the information we had seen on the internet. All your systems were smooth and Ken was a great ambassador for your company. The immediate area was really lovely with so much to see without leaving the marina area. Our son found the PS3 was a bonus and the board games were very welcome on our one soggy afternoon of the holiday. We did lots of exploring and used the ferry a lot - a brilliant alternative to driving and as we planned to use the train it was fantastic to hop off the ferry and onto a train.

Amazing apartment for exploring Portsmouth

The Granary is amazing - it had everything we needed and more. Great location to explore Portsmouth & Gosport. We loved visiting the Historic Dockyard - especially the Mary Rose. The submarine museum was also a favourite. Some great places to eat nearby - Arty's was our favourite. The apartment was so well equipped and lovely to have extras such as kitchen roll, dishwasher tablets/liquid, salt & pepper etc. Complete Holiday Homes were excellent, great communication throughout, one of the best companies I have ever dealt with. Granary - Gosport

We had a really enjoyable week at The Granary. We found everything was there that we needed to make it comfortable. We were particularly pleased that the travel cot was in great condition so we didn’t need to use the one we had in the boot (we’ve stayed at some places that haven’t been as nice). Having a toddler, the two restaurants along the front, Arty’s and the Bakery were a god send as they was so close… I think we ate at both twice, really lovely food! We found Ken very welcoming and informative during check in. Overall we’d definitely book with you again! I’ve also recommended The Granary to my family.

Excellent property and a great location

My wife and I had a great visit to Gosport and managed to see our granddaughter for the first time in the flesh for over 2 years, which we thoroughly enjoyed, and it was special to help her celebrate her 5th birthday having missed her 3rd and 4th due to Covid. We found the apartment to be of an excellent standard and exactly what we wanted for a base to enable us to go for walks along Stokes bay and around Gosport town. The Granary had all the amenities we needed and the position overlooking the boat yard was especially good for an ex member of the R.N. as we were able to see over to the dockyard to see some of the fleet. Complete Holiday Homes were very helpful any questions we had were dealt with in a prompt fashion and very professionally, I would like to pass on my compliments to Ken who met us on arrival and showed us round which was very much appreciated. My wife and I would certainly consider booking the apartment again and will recommend to our family.

Lovely apartment in a brilliant location

The weather was unbelievably good. The apartment was top notch, comfortable, spacious, clean and in a brilliant location. Very quiet as well considering there are two bars located in the building. We had a great time and would definitely book the Granary again.

Excellent stay and we will be back

The second time we have stayed at the Granary and we enjoyed ourselves as much as the first time. The administration leading up to our arrival and the meet and greet on the day were spot on. The accommodation and amenities met all of our needs. What we like about the Granary is its location; easy access to the Gosport Heritage trail for morning and evening walks, views over to Portsdown Hill and a short walk to the Gosport ferry across to Portsmouth. It was an excellent stay and we plan on coming back again.
