Whitsun Cottage is a small cosy, one bedroom Victorian cottage sleeping up to 3 guests, recently converted to a high standard with a number of great space saving ideas to provide light and airy living. Situated within a short walking distance from Gosport town centre in Hampshire with plenty of non restricted, non metered parking, the property is close to all major transport links.

Rooms

The prices advertised on our website are for up to 2 guests within the 1st floor double bedroom, plus the lounge has a single sofa bed to accommodate an additional guest, if requested. Additional guests over 2 are charged at a rate of £50 per week/part week per head, or we charge £25 per set of extra linen requested.

A child’s cot and highchair are also available at no extra cost. (If cots are provided guests are asked to please bring their own child’s bedding).

Bathroom

At the top of the stairs the main high spec bathroom is well fitted with a close coupled toilet, wash hand basin with cupboard under and a space saving bath, plus a large soaker shower over.

Kitchen

The cottage has recently had a newly fitted kitchen installed equipped with integral washing machine, fridge, electric oven and hob and a breakfast bar with 2 stools for dining.

Living room

The main living area is open plan with a comfy sofa bed for an additional guest if required, with storage under and a wall mounted flat screen smart TV.

Cloakroom

Off the entrance hall is an understairs cloakroom with an ingenious space saving toilet with wash hand basin over (see photos).

Outdoor spaces

The cottage is located with a gated courtyard and has a small outside space in front of the living room where it is possible to sit outside on the wooden bench and enjoy the afternoon and evening sun within the warmer summer months.

Some of our properties have age restrictions, such as where we feel it would not be suitable for younger all adult groups, such as within quiet residential areas where noise may be an issue.

Waterside Location

This property is within a 10 minute walk into town where the marinas are located around the harbour mouth or you are a 4 minute drive from Stokes Bay beach looking out over The Solent towards the Isle of Wight

Barbeques

There is not a BBQ at the property but if you did wish to bring along a disposable one there is a small courtyard area just outside the main living area at the front of the cottage should you wish to BBQ.

Neighbours

All our properties are located within residential areas so we do have neighbours whom we need to consider. If you feel you could comfortably monitor noise levels (in particular out in the gardens and outside areas into the evenings) then we would love to have you stay and have had countless guests who have had a great time with us at our properties. If however you feel that it would not be possible to monitor noise levels, then we would have to recommend you consider something more rural, without neighbours.

The nearest train station to is Portsmouth Harbour which is in Portsmouth, so you will need to get the short 4 minute ferry across to Gosport. The ferry sails every 5-15 minutes from Portsmouth Harbour station depending on the time of day.

If arriving in the UK, the closest international airports are Southampton (20 miles/32 km – a 25 min drive), London Heathrow (72 miles/116 km – a 1.2 hour drive) or London Gatwick (84 miles/135 km – a 1.4 hour drive).

There are few pubs/restaurants close to Whitsun Cottage as the cottage is behind Stoke Road which is a continuation of the High Street so you have various pubs, bars and eateries within a 5-10 minute walk

Many major supermarkets now offer click & collect, or home delivery if booked in advance through their online shops. We are also in an Amazon Prime Now delivery area.

FAQs

Check in times are between 4 - 6pm (unless agreed otherwise) with checkout by 10am on day of departure. If an early check in or late departure time is required then we will do what we can to help, however if this is vital for your plans we recommend guests book the extra night.
Bedding, linen and bathroom towels are provided for the number of guests booked to stay with a complimentary linen and towel change carried out for stays of 10 nights and over. Additional bedding is available if required at the cost of £25 per set to include 2 medium sized bath towels. If additional towels over those provided are requested these can also be supplied at a cost of £1 per hand towel and £2 per medium sized bath towel. The above is part of our environmental and sustainability program, which is designed to reduce waste, with all our properties provided with washing machines for your use if required, plus you are welcome to bring additional bedding/towels if you wish. An additional mid term maid cleaning service is also available for a cleaner to attend for 2 hours at a cost of £30 and please contact us if required.
We are understandably sensitive about what surfaces items such as balloons and banners are fixed or stuck to so would be happy to put these up for you to limit any possible damage, but would not wish to take on the responsibility of choosing and purchasing these items for you in case we did not get it quite right. However, if you wished to mail the items you would like us to put up for you, to our office address 45a Stoke Road, Gosport, Hants, PO12 1LS, at least 7 days prior to your arrival, we will endeavour to have these put up where possible, in time for your arrival.

Relaxing in Gosport

Whitsun Cottage is well equipped and decorated to a very high standard. Clever use made of available space. We fully enjoyed the High Street, markets and waterfront. There is plenty to do and see with easy access to Portsmouth. Complete Holiday Homes are friendly and very efficient. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

Whitsun was Lovely !

The property is lovely! So stylish. Clean bedding and towels half way through our stay was really appreciated and super attentive. The location was really handy for going to Gunwharf Quays and the Historic Dockyard. We loved the little gated community. Ken has been a great host and the rest of the staff at Complete Holiday Homes have been just perfect. Thank you for making our time together a great one.

Whitsun Cottage was ideal and did exactly what it says on the tin

It is ideal for a couple visiting the area but probably on the small side for more than two. For me it was perfect and all the facilities were all mod cons which all worked perfectly. A lot of care and thought has gone into the property for its presentation, appearance, features and facilities. All utensils are there, it wanted for nothing, everything seems new and all in good working order. Ken gave a very thorough hand over and provides an excellent meet and greet service, the gated area is all very well lit, safe and neat. Overall the whole experience was perfect for my requirements and I would definitely use Complete Holidays again.

WOW what a lovely small cottage Whitsun Cottage is ...

A home from home this property has everything you need, full kitchen for them home cooked meals leading to a cosy sofa area with TV to snuggle up in. Upstairs is a nicely fitted out bathroom/shower room and a nice double bedroom for a good night’s sleep and outside is a private courtyard to soak up the last of the days sun and chill. The cottage is positioned in a securely gated courtyard behind shops in the small high street with a good range of restaurants and bars and not far from the seafront. Complete Holiday Homes are close by so clean towels and bedding are available on request when needed. I would definitely stay here again if in the area for a weekend or work 10/10.

Whitsun Cottage was very nice, clean and with everything we needed. The ferry was lovely to pop over to the docks. I would like to thank you all for making the whole process go so smoothly by answering all our queries (whether pre-arrival or while we were there) in a friendly and timely manner.

Lovely and very comfortable stay

Couldn’t ask for a better host anything I needed he took care of including when I locked myself out. Whitsun Cottage was so well conceived, absolutely comfortable, everything you could want on two stories and for me a big plus it is environmentally planned, which I appreciated. Location to shops and local public transport was a real plus for me . Lovely and very comfortable stay.

Whitsun Cottage was everything we needed.

We needed a place to stay while work was being done on our house nearby. Whitsun Cottage was everything we needed, quite compact but very well laid out. The people there couldn't have been more helpful. All in all an excellent choice. Doubt we'll ever need a place to stay so near to home, but if we ever do, this will certainly be our first choice.  We couldn't have been looked after better than we were by the excellent staff at Complete Accommodation. Well above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you all.
